5 Poetry Blogs

Blog #1 – Anachronizms by: Del Ray Cross – http://anachronizms.blogspot.ca/

This blog caught my eye because of all the great pictures used alongside the poems. I am a photographer so I appreciate good photos. The pictures really enhance the poems and bring them to life. The poems are short and simple but when viewed together create a sort of story.

Blog #2 – A Window Within Myself by: Nasra Al Adawi – http://iamnasra.blogspot.ca/

This is another blog that successfully combines photography with poetry. This time the words are put directly on the photo, not just beside. This creates dynamic photo poems. The right font font, layout and picture can make a poem way better than it alone.

Blog #3 – Argonaut by: anonymous – http://theargonaut.wordpress.com/

This is a very simple blog, the poems are short and sweet. The poems are not posted very often, but when they are you know it will be amazing quality.

Blog #4 – The Dust Congress by: Hackmuth – http://falsedawn.blogspot.ca/

This is a dark blog, that is why I like it. I also like that the blogger offers sound clips for some of the poems. The use of pictures is also used here to enhance the poetry.

Blog #5 – Sad Poems by: Alcoholic Poet – http://www.alcoholicpoet.com/#sthash.SM00pvZg.dpbs

This is a very unique blog that concentrates only on depressing topics. It is a portal into the mind of an alcoholic poet. When you read the poems you can feel their pain and thirst.

iPad Mini Experience

Today I went down to the library to check out the iPad minis, it was a great experience. The apps were great and I got to use a VIP study area. I will review a few of these apps.

Rattlesnakes – Avoid at all costs, it gave me a gigantic head ache due to the constantly disappearing words.

Choice – Super trippy, I didn’t even know what was going on anymore. I was sucked into the fractal poetry universe. 😐

Speak – It did not make much sense, I was not able to figure out what to do. Or maybe there was nothing to do?

Know – I say no to know.

Migration – This one was disturbing, yet intriguing. recommend to those who enjoy seeing sperm made of words float around.

Jerusalem – This app was very visually appealing. Seeing the poems and the illuminations together helped make the poems come to life.

Visual Poetry – This app was one of my favourites. It makes putting your poem into any shape very easy. It also lets you change many variables such as color and font, you can also make custom shapes.

Verses Poetry – This one was great, it reminded me of playing with this word fridge magnets. I found you become more creative when given a limited set of words also.

“any milk is rosy” – Christian Bok’s bacteria

I don’t always make posts.

But when I do, I’m high on the bacteria I use to make poetry.

This is my analysis of Christian Bok using bacteria to make poetry.

First I give him two thumbs up. I used to think making poetry was something difficult. How wrong was I. Now I can just use old sandwiches I did not eat.

Second I give him two thumbs down. Before I thought only humans were the ones who could critique my poems. After his findings, I realize; no. You will see what I mean when you read this this quote from Bok.

Bök says, “The bacteria is not a poet, but a critic.”

This quote confuses me. I thought the bacteria was used to make poems, yet he clearly says it is not a poet but a critic.

I was confused once more when Bok said “It’s not meant to have any meaning or beauty.” I do not see why he did this then.

In the end I thought what he did was interesting, I enjoyed reading it. I just cant believe – “I worked on the project for over four years before making a breakthrough,” says Bök.

– Leave me some comments please 😐
